On 7/7/2016 at 2pm The Bardekova Ensemble performs at the Poe Park visitors center in the Bronx New York.
The Bardekova Ensemble is an award-winning ensemble starting its 34th season. Over 40 awards have been given to this organization. It is a non-for-profit organization, whose mission is to bring free and/or moderately priced concerts to people of all ages and economic levels in the Bronx. The organization has been in existence for 33 years. There will also be lectures throughout the concert about the music. This will help the audience to become more familiar with classical, jazz and other musical forms. This project will make it easier for the people of the Bronx to experience this type of music.
The music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Danzi, George M.Cohan, Miles Davis, Scott Joplin, Irving Berlin as well as other composers will be performed during the concerts.
This group has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall, Wave Hill, Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, The Coop City Dreiser Loop Center, The Poe Visitor’s Center and various other venues throughout the Bronx.
Members of the group have performed with members of the New York Philharmonic, and the Metropolitan Opera. They have also played with the Goldovsky Opera Company, the Steve Reich Ensemble as well as other notable performing organizations. They have recorded with ECM, Nonesuch, Grenadilla and the Et Cetera record companies.
Members have also performed in the major concert halls in New York City, such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall as well as other places.
Classical music has been proven to be healing as well as influencing the improvement of ones memory. As listed in Super learning written by Ostranger, slow baroque music has increase the retention rate of children exponentially. According to “ The Mozart Effect” by Don Campbell, classical music has been known to heal people.
The performance is 1hour and 15 minutes with an intermission.
Members have performed throughout the United States and various parts of Europe.
